Mikel Arteta and Arsenal earned back-to-back victories at Wembley having beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup final just four weeks ago, captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with the winning spot-kick after Takumi Minamino cancelled out his first-half strike.
After a largely successful loan spell with Arsenal, particularly towards the 2019/20 season conclusion, Ceballos was been called back for pre-season by parent club Real Madrid.
Arteta has however revealed the Spaniard has made it clear he wants to return to Arsenal, who want to sign the midfielder on loan once more.
Standard Sport understands Madrid are considering keeping Ceballos this summer, while numerous reports have also claimed his former club Real Betis are frontrunners for the Spanish international.
The midfielder’s affection for the north London club is clearly as strong as ever, however, as shown by his emphatic celebration as Arsenal won successive domestic titles.
The Spaniard posted a video on Twitter, where he screamed in jubilation after Aubameyang netted the final penalty to hand Arsenal victory.
Elsewhere, Ceballos’ former team-mate Lacazette also celebrated Arsenal’s victory, despite being left out of their squad altogether.
The Frenchman – who has just two years remaining on his contract – has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer after falling down the pecking order under Arteta.
Lacazette scored just 10 goals in 30 Premier League appearances last season. And with the signing of Willian, while Bukayo Saka is likely to be pushed further forward this season, his opportunities may be increasingly limited.
The forward was certainly delighted by Arsenal’s triumphs, however, posting a congratulatory message on Twitter.
“Well done guys,” he wrote in a message accompanied by both trophy and celebratory emojis.
