Joshua visits Buhari, prostrates for president as he presents his belts
Anthony Joshua on Saturday, January 18, met with President Muhammadu Buhari and presented his heavyweight belts to him in a beautiful scene that sent delight into the hearts of Nigerians across the world, reports legit.ng.
The world heavyweight champion defeated Mexican star Andy Ruiz in Saudi Arabia on December 7, to reclaim his heavyweights belts in style.
Joshua, whose father hailed from Sagamu, Ogun State, then thanked Nigerians for their supports, promising to present his IBO, IBF, WBO and WBA belts to the president.
The 30-year-old boxer met the president who is in United Kingdom for Investment Summit on Saturday alongside Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs.
Other top personalities who received the Nigerian-born pugilist include Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and Nìyí Adebayo, minister of industry, trade and investment.
Interestingly, Joshua proved he is is more a Nigerian than anybody could think as he prostrated for the president before handing his heavyweight belts to him.

President Buhari congratulated Anthony Joshua over his victory against Carlos Takam in 2017, and replicated the same gesture when Joshua defeated Ruiz Jr in December 2019 at Diriya Arena.
Joshua won on unanimous decision to reclaim his heavyweight belts and he will be defending the belt against Bulgarian fighter Kubrat Pulev in May.
