Abia PDP dissolves executive committee, inaugurates interim leadership

The Abia State wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday dissolved its executive committee and inaugurated an interim leadership to oversee the party in the state.
Supervised by the South East zonal leadership of the party, the immediate past chairman of Abia State PDP, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, was named leader of the caretaker committee.
The dissolved executive committee, which was elected in May 2016, has completed its four-year tenure as stipulated by the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Inaugurating the Caretaker committee at the PDP state Headquarters, Umuahia, on Thursday, the South East Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Austin Umahi revealed that the committee was composed of the immediate past state executives of the party.
Umahi also disclosed that caretaker committee members would pilot the affairs of the party for the next three months when a new substantial executive would be instituted.
