Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has vowed that the struggle for the actualization of Biafra would be heightened now that his parents are out of the way. Nnamdi Kanu’s parents were buried in Umuahia, Abia State on Friday.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Kanu, who thanked members of the IPOB who defied all threats to attend the burial and “shamed” those he described as “enemies,” said, “even the satan is afraid” of the IPOB.
Kanu’s parents, HRH Eze Israel Kanu and his wife, Ugoeze Sally Kanu, died last year.
The IPOB leader, who did not attend his parents’ burial, left Nigeria in 2017 after soldiers’ invasion of his house during the ‘Operation Python Dance.’
According to IPOB’s spokesman, Emeka Powerful, Kanu was persuaded to stay away from the burial.
“Our leader is much engaged with diplomatic moves for Biafra restoration, we begged him not to come home, let those at home bury his parents. He listened to his people, that is why he changed his mind,” Emeka Powerful explained.
